Getting to San Francisco

Arriving by Something other than a Plane

Many of you live less than a flight away. :) It can be annoying to deal with a car in the city, and we always recommend taking public transit. Riding the train or ferry can be a fun and convenient way to get into the city.

If you do decide to drive yourself, see the FAQ for Drivers for more information.

Flying to San Francisco

There are so many airports here! Options:

  1. SFO—most convenient access to the hotels and wedding venues
  2. OAK—we recommend you take BART to SF, or be prepared for an hour+ car ride across the Bay Bridge
  3. SJC—least convenient to get to SF, though perhaps you have other travel plans that make this a good option

SFO and OAK both have direct BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) connections to downtown San Francisco, making it easy to get around without a car. All airports have car-based transportation options like taxis, rideshares, and shuttles.

Renting a car is not recommended unless you plan to explore the wider Bay Area, as parking can be expensive and limited in the city. See the FAQ for Drivers.

Wedding Day Shuttles

We will be providing shuttles between the hotel and our venues. Consult the Day of Schedule for shuttle information.

Public Transit

  • Clipper Card is the easiest way to pay for public transit in the Bay Area. You can use it on BART, MUNI, the cable cars, and other transit systems. If you don't already have a Clipper card, consult Clipper's website or ask a local urbanist for help.

  • Citymapper is the best app for navigating public transit in San Francisco. It provides real-time directions and updates. Apple and Google maps work too.

Rideshare

  • Lyft and Uber are convenient and widely available in San Francisco.
  • You can also use our local robo-taxis with Waymo!
